Physical Therapy Technician

The Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center, a division of CAO is currently seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Technician.
Job Summary: Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises designated by the treating physical therapist and assist with administrative tasks
High school diploma required BS in a health science field a plus Experience as a orthopedic PT tech a plus Qualifications and Experience:
Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor Good communication skills Neat, professional appearance. Comfortable using computers and e-mail Experience in instructing and demonstrating exercises Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
General Patient Care – Daily
Instruct patients in therapeutic exercise per therex log Instruct new patients in HEP designed by PT Log time of therex, HEP, and modalities for each patient on PT’s schedule Log Therex time in the header row if an exercise is prescribed for this category in the flow sheet Don/Doff hot/cold modalities, ES and ionto set ups once placement is instructed Clean plinths and replace pillow cases after each patient Complete laundry Schedule addition appointments for patients when PT front desk is not on clock Fill and empty Game Ready depending on start of shift Remind each patient of his or her next PT appointment time and day after each visit Telephone and Administrative
Answer PT line throughout the day as time permits Return patient phone calls throughout the day when time permits Print next day’s schedule for each PT. Log in patients next appointment time and day on each schedule Contact patients by phone to remind them to bring their referral/script if an outside patient Enter referral/auth into PM if given verbally via phone Call patients on the wait list to fill open appointment slots Order treatment supplies for the month via inventory list Other
Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations Maintain patient confidentiality: comply with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice Attend all regular meetings Perform all additional tasks and projects assigned by PT director, Front desk supervisor, CEO, Director of operations, or MDs
